Behind the scenes bloopers
Welcome to the Tales side of the Arty’s Tricks & Tales blog. Join us as we emBARK on adventures with Arty :)
Now there’s a thought . . .
What if we can learn valuable lessons from Arty about how to gracefully handle life’s unexpected “bloopers”? If we face these moments with an open heart and a curious mind, we can see how Arty managed them. This could inspire us and help us grow. We all have struggles and make mistakes, that’s part of life. Life is filled with twists and turns, moments that don’t go as planned. Instead of viewing these instances as setbacks, we can look to Arty for inspiration on how to embrace them with an open heart and a curious mind.
Here we take a delightful behind-the-scenes look at capturing candid photos of Arty. This didn’t go quite as planned, but Arty reminds us that sometimes it just doesn’t work out the way you expect, and he didn’t seem to be too worried about it. Here’s a sneak peek into what goes on during the unpredictable but joyful world of Arty Photo Shoots!
Arty & I never really plan a photo shoot, it’s more of a “photo opportunity”. This particular day I thought it would be the ideal moment for some action shots, specifically a nice shot of him catching a pine cone. Arty had other ideas. He was a whirlwind of furry fluff and enthusiasm, a pup on a mission to catch the pine cone, although he had a bit of trouble. He launched himself with gusto, although misjudging and losing sight of the cone many times. Until that final throw. Arty kept trying for that cone, throw after throw, and on his final try? He snagged that pine cone. He was so happy he finally caught it! And once he had it in his mouth, his tail started wagging and he proudly trotted back to the house with his prize. He was, after all, Mr. Smarty Arty, the most glorious pine cone-catching dog in the world.
These images tell a story that polished pictures might miss, and while I didn’t get another photo for my greeting card line, we sure had a lot of fun! And since “Fun” and “Arty” seem to go hand-in-hand, we could celebrate not only that one final catch, but every mistake, whoops, blooper and TRY. Sometimes having a good time is just as important as getting a “perfect photo”. (Although who’s to say these aren’t just perfect photos? I think Arty would agree that these showcase his athleticism and his tenacity!)
If we take Arty’s doggy wisdom to heart, translated into human language it may read something like this:
Don’t give up! Don't worry what you look like while you're in the middle of working it out!
Embrace the awkward tumbles and the goofy expressions. The misspoken words or forgetful moments. True progress isn't always pretty. Let Arty be an inspiration and source of joy for each of us. He reminds us that the pursuit of our goals is often more about the journey than flawless execution. It's a wonderful lesson for all of us. Whether you're learning a new skill, tackling a big project, or just trying to get through a Thursday, don't be afraid to look a little silly or stumble along the way. And please extend grace to others who are on their own journey.
Arty reminds us that mistakes are not just obstacles— they are opportunities for growth. Each blooper is a chance to learn something new, to reflect, and to adapt. When we approach our challenges with the same exuberant spirit that Arty embodies, we allow ourselves to find humor and wisdom in life’s unpredictable moments.
At Arty Greeting Cards, we celebrate these real-life experiences. By sharing these messages with friends and loved ones, we not only spread kindness but also strengthen our connections. *he finally DID catch a pine cone and we called it a day! Look carefully at the last photo, you see a ball of fluff with a couple white teeth showing? Just above his cute little nose is the pine cone he caught AFTER I snapped the photo (of course!) See the image below.
GOT IT! Arty finally caught the pine cone. If you look closely, you can see it coming at him about 8” above his cute little nose.
